The Materials Society, which we call 'MatSoc', represents the social side of the Materials Department. Our aim is to provide light refreshment from any work you may be doing, by social gatherings!! This year we anticipate waging war on our sister society in the Earth Science Department, De La Beche, starting with a paintball competition (see Events). We will also organise other events including various outings, dinners and the infamous New Year Party.
MatSoc also aims to provide the platform from which help and advice for future career paths can be gained. There will be opportunities this year to chat informally to several companies, with essential nibbles, regarding life outside the departmental sphere, whenever that may be.
